The Parish Council
A Parish Council or Local Council is a body corporate with perpetual succession and a name, in this case ‘Bodgeham-on-Wye Parish Council’. We have a Chair and 26 other Councillors, representing two sub divisions of the parishes; these sub divisions are known as wards.
Bodgeham-on-Wye Parish Council is funded almost entirely from the precept or charges to the residents within the parish boundary. The precept is collected by Bodgeham-on-Wye Parish Council as part of the Council Tax.
The Council meets monthly (except for July and December) and all meetings are open to the public.
The aim or mission of the Parish is:
‘To develop and sustain a sense of community within the parish of Bodgeham-on-Wye by addressing environmental, economic and social issues and delivering quality services to our Parishioners’.
